Came here for Restaurant Week and I'm glad I went!
I'm not usually a fan of mediterranean food but this one was actually pretty enjoyable for me. I got the croquettes, risotto and cheesecake. It was actually a bit too much food for me but I had to eat every last bite.
Next time, I think I would ask to hang out in the lounge area rather than the formal dining room. The ambience downstairs seemed relaxing and casual - would recommend a place to check out! -

Fig & Olive has been on my radar forever. Finally stopped by on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Lucky for me, Restaurant Week was in full effect...took advantage of the $22 brunch deal.
Signature Crostini was the highlight, hands down! Interesting tidbit: Crostini means "little toasts" in Italian. Listen, there was nothing "little" about the flavor...these things were absolutely delicious! Indulged in the Chef's Selection of three...Smoked Salmon, Prosciutto, and Marinated Shrimp for an extra $9 (regular price is $14). Worth every penny!
Mushroom Rigatoni fell flat...perfectly cooked rigatoni, but bland. No complex flavors whatsoever. Mushroom Croquette was tasty...liked the cheesy Parmesan flavor. Fruity Seasonal Sorbet was pretty good...was never a fan of sorbet, but I am now!
Didn't partake in any of the alcoholic beverages...had a Calypso (mocktail) instead. There was nothing unique or savory about it...tasted like diluted Hawaiian Punch. A total waste of $10.
Table service was impeccable, but a little stuffy. Server lacked enthusiasm and wasn't particularly friendly.
Atmosphere is contemporary and aesthetically appealing...luxurious wood flooring, plush seating, spacious bar, and huge picture windows with nice views of CityCenterDC.
Verdict: Despite the aloof customer service, the mouthwatering crostini is definitely worth coming back for!
Pro tip: Bread and olive oil samplers were yummy! -

I live in San Diego, but I'm from Baltimore. I flew back to visit friends and family. My first full day back on the the east coast was spent in DC hanging with two good friends and a few of my favorite family members.
We decided to do Brunch at Fig & Olive, a more upscale place than I'm use to. The staff were all very friendly and super attentive. My glass of water never got past half empty. The food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. I liked the vibe of the place, the inside bar area looked great, but we sat outside to do some people watching.
The prices might seem a tad high, but honestly I thought very worth it. We had a party of six and not one of us complained about the prices, the food, and certainly not the service. -

There aren't enough superlatives to describe our experience at Fig & Olive! After a long day, we were in need of a perfect weather patio dinner and this restaurant was on my very short list. Reservations are highly recommended and I'm so glad I made one. We started with the yummy olives--the garlic is spicy!--and ordered from there. Having had a late lunch, I chose to turn a six crostini tasting into my dinner, while my companion enjoyed the Chicken Tajine. We split a delicious apple tart with a scoop of vanilla perfection. Fig & Olive is a splurge, to be sure. It wasn't cheap, but we got our money's worth in flavor, service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back!!

Located in CityCenterDC (CCDC), Fig & Olive is a short walk from either Metro Center (Blue/Orange/Silver) or Gallery Place - Chinatown (Red/Green/Yellow). The restaurant occupies two floors in the center of the larger complex. The outdoor seating area is separated from the street and abuts against a pedestrian area, shielding the space from common noise associated with traffic. The taller buildings in the area also shield outdoor diners from direct sunlight with the exception of the mid-day sunlight. Dress code is business casual although I have seen wedding parties here. There is often live music on the first floor, and most of the formal dining space is located on the upper floor. On this occasion, I enjoyed the Lobster Salad, which included lobster claws & knuckles poached in Herbes de Provence olive oil & espelette pepper with butter lettuce, watercress, fresh heart of palm, French radish, kumato tomato, pimento brioche croutons & picholine dressing. AmEx is accepted here, and if you are a Select member, members receive a complimentary round of Piscine cocktails or Chocolat Pot de Creme dessert for their full party. Note: Reservations must be made through the Select concierge.
